Operation Home Sick
Mommy was really looking forward to a much needed weekend with Aunt Leeann alone, so Mommy and me drove down to Long Island without Daddy for 4 days instead. The day we arrived was my Great Grandma Tess's 453rd birthday party. All of Mommy's cousins and aunts and uncles were there, and my sweet cousins, Jude, Ella Grace, and Sadie, were also there, and much taller than I remember. We all have the same curly ponytail (except Jude) and it was almost impossible for me to share anything with them. I drank about 30 gallons of hose water and went on my merry way. I also went out to Montauk (THE END, for those of you not in the know) and took my first dip in the Atlantic. There were dark skies and an angry sea, so Mommy let me stay in the water until I turned purple. The salt water kicks ass! Seaweed, little crabs, broken sea shells, cigarette butts- I was a huge fan. Maryann and Frank made me a sandwich and got me beach toys, and it was very nice to have a visit with them. Their stunt double best friends Margie and Paul were also there and Margie really makes an excellent Grandma. The rest of my weekend was spent naked in Leeann's backyard, turning the volume knob on the stereo receiver, and stacking cans in the kitchen. Could be meat, could be peaches-who knows. And most importantly, a moment of silence for Striper. He was a very nice cat and could never hear me coming. He will be missed.
